In every generation there is a chosen one; she alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer.
Sunnydale was supposed to be a fresh start for 16 year old Buffy Summers. She wants nothing more than to make the right friends and fit in with the right group. There is only one thing standing in her way. Her destiny. She claims to be a "retired slayer" but she never anticipated that the town was situated right on top of the Hellmouth. Buffy must take up her slayer duties if she wants to stop the Hellmouth from being opened and swallowing the town whole along with everyone else.
On top of that she has not only school to worry about but the Hellmouth attracts demons and other supernatural creatures, becoming a "hot spot" for supernatural activity. New "big bads" arrive in town looking to cause trouble and the only one who can stop them is Buffy. However, with the help of some friends she just might be able to cope but placing them in danger means that she doesn't have only herself to worry about getting killed.
