In a dream I spent the day with you In a carriage bought by blood...
A small figure leaned on a tree as the sun began to rise hinting that she had been there all night. A waterfall gave a soft roar in the background as to her right a gleaming lake spanned out. An open book sprawled on the side of her face. It was a place of peace and she didn't stand out but instead fit like a puzzle into the scene. Her green dress blending with the moss covered bark while her hair grew out like vines. A bird chirp breaking the morning silence the first of what was soon to be many as the animals of the day began to wake.
Lorelei awoke dew coated her face and hair. Stretching her arms she yawned not fully aware of her surroundings. The book plopped firmly into her lap opening her eyes to her surroundings. Confusion was the first thing that crossed her face the recognition. She had wandered here in the night unable to sleep and read her book by moonlight. Standing up she sighed at her foolishness and her luck to have spent the night unharmed. Picking up the book she held it back and in one simple motion threw it into the lake. It hit the water with a splash and she watched it sink. Looking out over the lake she smiled at the scene. Such places of simple peace where hard to find.
...The clouds were singing songs of fear and loss; And they cut me down to size.
